Do not pass…

Do not pass

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. (Matthew 1:18)

We’ve heard the story, we’ve read the verses…and we sort of gloss over this fact because the majestic qualities of the birth of Christ are certainly where the spotlight shines. But for a moment let’s really consider how this was for Mary.

Mary knows the truth. But those people who she and Joseph passed on the way to Jerusalem did not know. The people from their town, who knew them both and surely speculated on her condition didn’t know. I imagine that for Mary this was a tough journey both physically and emotionally. But Mary stuck it out, she soldiered on, she didn’t pass on the task that God had for her.

Do not pass on what God has called you to. I saw this hawk sitting on a traffic sign and it spoke to me. It reminded me not to pass on what God has called me to. He is watching over me. He has a purpose and He will work whatever it is together for good.  Whatever the circumstance, struggle, trial, or challenge is- I can trust God with it and He will work it together for good.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)
