While they were there, the time came for her to give birth. Then she gave birth to her firstborn Son, and she wrapped Him snugly in cloth and laid Him in a feeding trough—because there was no room for them at the lodging place. (Luke 2:6-7)
There was no room for Him. No room. None. Can you imagine? Our Savior, born to save us from ourselves, comes into the world and no one makes any room for Him. Not a bed, a mat in front of the fire, no room- left outside with the animals.
And it still happens. Every day. At our own hands. There are times that we don’t have a place for Jesus. We shut Him out of areas of our lives. We get too busy, too crowded, too distracted- and there is no room for Him in the lodging place of our hearts.
This Christmas make sure there is room in the lodging place. Make sure that He is the center of your celebrations. Make room at the inn.
