Our names are on heaven’s registry…

In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that the whole empire  should be registered.  This first registration took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So everyone went to be registered, each to his own town. (Luke 2: 1-3)

Where we come from is a big part of our identity. Where we grew up, went to high school or college, and where we live are identifying markers as to who we are. But where we’re going should be an even greater distinction.

As Christians we are promised eternal life in heaven. Our ultimate destination is eternity with God in a perfect place. A place where there is no bad news, illness, death, mourning, or sadness. Our names are on that registry!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
