Stilling the storm

It’s always there, eclipsing your thoughts, penetrating whatever you’re doing, “what ifs” bouncing around…that storm just seems to take over, generating its own energy. The storm will have that power over us when we are trying to control it. We can’t control storms. Let’s face it, we can scarcely predict the weather with any accuracy – we certainly can’t control it.

But there is One who can take control, and still the storms to a whisper. When the storms are raging cry out to the Lord, and rest in Him to bring you from the distress. He will calm the storm and guide you to the desired haven.

Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress.
He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.                                  They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven. (Psalm 107:29-30)
