What’s on your mind? Autumn rains of righteousness!

Joel 2 23

This week we’re talking about what’s on our minds- the good, the bad, and the ugly. Yesterday we recognized that worry and envy usually travel in pairs, and when our minds are busy with either or both of them we leave ourselves vulnerable to the evil one.

Let’s balance that vulnerability by rejoicing, and celebrating the autumn rains of righteousness (Joel 2:23)! When we rejoice for what God has given us, and let praise fill our minds and our mouths, our perception changes and we can be a beacon of light for others. We can choose to worry and envy others who do not share our struggles, or we can choose to thank God for walking with us through those same struggles, and praise Him that He is already at the end of the chapter and claim victory in His name.

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. (Philippians 4:6)

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. (Colossians 3:16)
