Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. (1 Corinthians 13:4)
As a child we test everyone of these attributes of love- dozens, perhaps hundreds of times. As a mother we try to emulate these attributes, but we’re human and lack of sleep and picking up the same puzzle for the 15th time takes a toll. But God loves us with these very same attributes, all the time- so be inspired. Strength and dignity are you clothing- laugh at the time to come.
Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” (Proverbs 31:25-30)
“For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.” (Mark 3:35)
