Jeremiah 33

What have you lost? Have you wasted time, energy, money? Have you squandered relationships? God wants to restore what you have lost. God wants you to experience joy. Identify what you have lost and then claim His promises of restoration.

And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten…” -Joel 2:25

God promises that He will restore your life again. No matter how many twists and turns the road may have, there is always one smooth straight portion. Even the longest day has a sunset.

  • He will restore your relationship with Him

When people wander or gradually drift away from God, they often begin to feel that God is distant. God seems far away – and hard to reach. But the opposite is actually true: God is very near. In fact, He is standing at the door. He came for the lost.

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. -Matthew 6:33

  • He will restore your joy and your strength

He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. -Psalm 23:3

One of the first things the enemy will try to steal from us is our joy. He wants to get us sad, sorrowful, and oppressed. Remember what it was like when you first were saved? There was joy unspeakable. God doesn’t want us to lose that joy! Nehemiah 8:10 tells us, “The JOY of the Lord is your strength.” It is important for Christians to have joy in their life! If you don’t have joy, you don’t have any strength. (Adapted from Brenda Thomas)

Jesus does not eliminate all storms from your life – but he can give you a supernatural peace, even in the midst of the storms, and His word instructs us how to handle the trials in our life. Jesus does not eliminate all suffering from your life – but he can give you a strength and a love that was never there before, so that you can love even your enemies, and pray for their well-being.

  • He will restore what you have lost

“…then the LORD your God will restore your fortunes and have compassion on you and gather you again from all the nations where he scattered you.” -Deuteronomy 30:3

Every good thing comes from God. He gives and takes away. He provides for all of our needs.

God wants you to have that dream fulfilled. He wants you to have joy. He wants you to be healthy. God is a good God! And He’s got good things in store for us. Don’t let the devil steal anything from you. Declare restoration over your life! Take what belongs to you, in the Name of Jesus! (Adapted from Brenda Thomas)

“Come out of sadness from wherever you’ve been
Come broken hearted let rescue begin
Come find your mercy
Oh sinner, come kneel

Earth has no sorrow
That Heaven can’t heal.” -Lyrics from Come as You Are, by Crowder
