Joy and Peace have become your companions

Advent Wed week 3

Turn to Me and be safe, all you ends of the earth, for I am God; there is no other! (Isaiah 45:22)

Joy is knowing that you were created with Love, saved by Love, and know- intimately know and communicate with- the Alpha and Omega. Although we might not build a golden calf like the Israelite’s, we may still need to be reminded that God is God, and not the idols that we create. Times are different and giant gold statues may not be the idol- it might be possessions, fame, fortune- whatever is your first love other than God. Whatever or whoever you are living to serve and serving to live; whatever or whomever your time, money, and energy is given to. During this time of Advent reflect on where you turn in the time of need, are you turning to God? Do you believe that He will fulfill His promises, that He will do what He says He will do? There is joy and peace in knowing His truth. God with us. (Adapted from and Celebrating Holidays)

The Scriptures say, “God commanded light to shine in the dark.” Now God is shining in our hearts to let you know that his glory is seen in Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:6)

Come to Me with your emptiness knowing that in Me you are complete. As you rest quietly in My Presence, My Light within you grows brighter and brighter. Facing the emptiness inside you is simply the prelude to being filled with My fullness. Therefore, rejoice on those days when you drag yourself out of bed, feeling sluggish and inadequate. Tell yourself that this is a perfect day to depend on Me in childlike trust. If you persevere in this dependence as you go through the day, you will discover at bedtime that Joy and Peace have become your companions. -Jesus Calling, Sarah Young

We are like clay jars in which this treasure is stored. The real power comes from God and not from us.  We often suffer, but we are never crushed. Even when we don’t know what to do, we never give up.  In times of trouble, God is with us, and when we are knocked down, we get up again. (2 Corinthians 4:7)

You shall have My Joy. But life just now for you  is a march — a toilsome march. . . .The Joy will come, but for the moment do not think of that, think simply of the march. Joy is the reward. . . .Between My Promise of the Gift of Joy to My disciples and their realization of that Joy came sense of failure, disappointment, denial, desertion, hopelessness, then hope, waiting, and courage in the face of danger. Joy is the reward of patiently seeing Me in the dull dark days, of trusting when you cannot see. . . .Joy is as it were your heart’s response to My smile of recognition of your faithfulness. . . . -God Calling, A.J. Russell

Stop thinking your lives are all wrong if you do not feel it. . . . Remember you may not yet be joyous, but you are brave, and courage and unselfish thought for others are as sure signs of true discipleship as Joy. -God Calling, A.J. Russell

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” Romans 15:13
