Hear the angels sing!

sat week 2 advent

Over 400 years before the birth of Jesus, the prophet Malachi foretold how a forerunner would prepare the way for Jesus. John the Baptist fulfilled this prophecy. “‘See, I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,’ says the Lord Almighty” (Malachi 3:1).

It was all foretold- the prophecy, fulfilled by Christ’s birth, life, and resurrection. The promises were all delivered. There were no changes to the game plan. God is consistent. God is faithful. He came for us. Hear the angels sing!

Glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by his power at work within us; glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus for all generations, forever and always.” Ephesians 3:20

Take time to be holy. The word holy does not mean goody-goody; it means set apart for sacred use. That is what quiet moments in My Presence are accomplishing within you. As you focus you mind and heart on Me, you are being transformed: re-created into the one I designed you to be. This process requires blocks of time set aside for communion with me. The benefits of this practice are limitless. Emotional and physical healing are enhanced by your soaking in the Light of My Presence. -Jesus Calling, Sarah Young

“Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise…The prayers of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:13,16

If you are in the deep shadows because of some strange, mysterious providence, do not be afraid. Simply go on in faith and love, never doubting. God is watching, and He will bring good and beauty out of all your pain and tears. -J.R. Miller, Streams in the Desert
