The road less traveled

road less traveled

Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything” James 1:4

If you feel like the approach that you are taking- to follow in faith, to stay the course regardless of the outcome, to believe in your heart of hearts that it is all for good- is, as the world judges things, the wrong one, your perception of their evaluation is correct; but your approach is still the right one.

“This is the age of self-help. Bookstores abound with books about “taking care of number one,” making oneself the center of all things. The main goal of these methodologies is to become self-sufficient and confident. You, however, have been called to take a “road less traveled”: continual dependence on Me. True confidence comes from knowing that you are complete in My Presence. Everything you need has its counterpart in Me.” -Sarah Young, Jesus Calling

When you’re on the path, following in faith and staying the course regardless of the outcome, things don’t make sense- that is why the need for faith is so strong.

“When looking back on the lives of men and women of God the tendency is to say- What wonderfully astute wisdom they had! How perfectly they understood all God wanted! The astute mind behind is the Mind of God, not human wisdom at all. We give credit to human wisdom when we should give credit to the Divine guidance of God through childlike people who were foolish enough to trust God’s wisdom and the supernatural equipment of God.” -Oswald Chambers

When I am at my weakest moments, when I think I just can’t keep going, I get the greatest surge of supernatural energy and power in my life by spending time in God’s presence. I can keep going because my relationship with Him gives me a sense of sufficiency and hope. I know He’s promised to guide me, keep me, and supply my needs- whatever they may be. -Walking with God, Life Principle #26
