An undisturbable calm

all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.” Psalm 139:16

God tells us not to be anxious about anything- including aging. “Don’t be anxious about the weakness of your body. Instead view it as the prelude to My infusing energy into your being. As you identify more and more fully with Me, My Life becomes increasingly intertwined with yours. Though the process of aging continues, inwardly you grow stronger with the passing years. Those who live close to Me develop an inner aliveness that makes them seem youthful in spite of their years. Let My Life shine through you as you walk in the Light with Me.” -Sarah Young: Jesus Calling

“To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.” Colossians 1:29

There is what is called the “cushion of the sea”. Down beneath the surface that is agitated by storms, and driven about with winds, there is a part of the sea that is never stirred. When we dredge the bottom and bring up remains of animal and vegetable life we find that they give evidence of not having been disturbed in the least, for hundreds and thousands of years. The peace of God is that eternal calm which, like the cushion of the sea, lies far too deep down to be reached by an external trouble or disturbance, and he who enters into the presence of God, becomes partaker of that undisturbed and undisturbable calm. – Streams in the Desert, Dr. A.T. Pierson

This is the will of God, even in your sanctification.” 1 Thessalonians 4:3

Sanctification makes me one with Jesus Christ, and in Him one with God, and it is done only through the superb Atonement of Christ. Never put the effect as the cause. The effect in me is obedience and service and prayer, and is the outcome of speechless thanks and adoration for the marvelous sanctification wrought out in me because of the Atonement. -Oswald Chambers
