Lord, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven above or on earth below—you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way.” 1 Kings 8:23

Do not worry about what other people think of you. The work I am doing in you is hidden at first. But eventually blossoms will burst forth, and abundant fruit will be born. -Sarah Young, Jesus Calling

Obedience to God is so freeing. No longer being bound by the pressure of what other people think about me, and living for what God thinks about me, is freedom. That obedience always brings blessing. A blessing is anything that can be categorized as an expression of God’s goodness and love toward us. The fruit of the Spirit lists 9 blessings that we are promised right off the bat:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” -Galatians 5:22

If you don’t feel blessed it may be that you are overlooking something important. The blessings God sends don’t always take the form you expect. It depends on your situation. At times, the Holy spirit will give you an awesome sense of peace. It may be that He gives you an overwhelming joy or an incredibly feeling of contentment. Many people never think about peace, joy, and contentment as blessings, but they are. -Walking With Jesus, Life Principle #21
