A broad path

“It is God who arms me with strength
    and keeps my way secure.
He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;
    he causes me to stand on the heights.
He trains my hands for battle;
    my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
You make your saving help my shield,
    and your right hand sustains me;
    your help has made me great.                                                                                                        You provide a broad path for my feet,                                                                                          so that my ankles do not give way.” Psalm 18:33

Sometimes God sends severe blasts of trial upon His children to develop their graces. Just as torches burn most brightly when swung to and fro; just as the juniper plant smells sweetest when flung into open flames; so the richest qualities of a Christian often come out under the north wind of suffering and adversity. Bruised hearts often emit the fragrance that God loves to smell. -Streams in the Desert

The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
    he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
    he enables me to tread on the heights.” Habakkuk 3:17

We are too much given to thinking of the Cross as something we have to get through; we get through it only in order to get into it. The Cross stands for one thing only for us- a complete and entire and absolute identification with the Lord Jesus Christ, and there is nothing in it which this identification is realized more than in prayer. When prayer seems to be unanswered, beware of trying to fix the blame on someone else. That is always a snare of Satan. You will find there is a reason which is a deep instruction to you, not to anyone else. -Oswald Chambers

The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of his harvest to send out workers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:37

You can do many things for people that do not result in lasting fruit. But when you share with others the truth of Jesus- praying for them and talking to them about what the Lord has done in your life- God will use you to reap great, eternal harvests in them. -Walking With God, Life Principal #6

I’m gearing up for the next phase of the struggle with the giant- I am in such amazing company; have an unbelievable team of talent, experts, and personality; and prayers of support from literally around the world! I hope that somehow, some way, this struggle blesses other people and changes the dynamics of a broken system.

I’m savoring every second of this respite between the phases- it is a vacation! I bask in just being at home, hanging out with my kids and my dogs- yesterday my daughter, her friend, and I made homemade pizza for the first time. It was fun, it was simple, it was delicious. Running errands, having coffee with my mom, making pizza with my kids-these are the blessings! That plumeria is off the charts- blooming like crazy and reminding me every day of the love that God has for me and His reflection in the beauty of those amazing flowers.
