Enthusiasm & Endurance

Enthusiasm is contagious, and so is a lack of it. -Amish proverb

Endurance requires sustenance. In the same way that I would train to run a marathon, and rest and nourish my body before that event, I have to prepare the very same way to endure the challenges that lay ahead and nourish my mind, body and soul. To sustain my endurance I have to walk by faith, trust in God, cherish my support team, and maintain my enthusiasm.

To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” 1 Corinthians 27

“I am with you at all times, encouraging and supportive rather than condemning. I know that deep within you, where I live, my Peace is your continual experience. Slow down your pace of living for a time. Quiet your mind in My Presence. Then you will be able to hear Me bestowing the resurrection blessing: Peace be with you.” -Jesus Calling

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 28:20

God guides us, often by circumstances. At one moment the way may seem utterly blocked; and then shortly afterward some trivial incident occurs, which might not seem much to others, but which to the keen eye of faith speaks volumes. Sometimes these things are repeated in various ways, in answer to prayer. They are not haphazard results of chance, but the opening up of circumstances in the direction in which we would walk. And they begin to multiply as we advance toward our goal, just as the lights do as we near a populous town, when darting through the land on by night express. -F.B. Meyer

Let your endurance be a finished product, so that you may be finished and complete with never a defect.” James 1:4

God will bring us back to the same point over and over again. He never tires of bringing us tot he one point until we learn the lesson, because He is producing the finished product. It may be a question of impulse, and again and again, with patient patience, God has brought us back to the one particular point; or it may be mental wool-gathering, or independent individuality. God is trying to impress upon us the one thing that is not entirely right.-Oswald Chambers
