Thank you, God, for the test

“some trust in chariots and some in horses,
But we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” -Psalm 20:7

Oswald (1935) says to “Thank God He does give us difficult things to do! His salvation is a glad thing, but it is also a heroic, holy thing. It tests us for all we are worth.”

It is hard for me to wrap my simple mind around thanking God for the struggle, and I have to actually remind myself to do that- it doesn’t come naturally. Stanley (2012) reminds me that “you may not be able to understand all that God does in your life. But when you can focus on the truth that He is sovereign, you will find blessing and value in everything you go through.”

I am adopting Stanley’s suggestion to “Learn to see everything as coming from God. This is a basic principle that will prevent you from becoming bitter, hostile, and resentful. (Walking With God)

Blessings: delicious dinner with mom last night and a relaxing drive along the beach, a long and restful night’s sleep, safe travels.
